Dirk is an accomplished international Supply Chain and Procurement professional with more than 30 years’ experience in New Zealand and Europe. He has FMCG, automotive, energy, construction and utility industry experience with proven results in standardisation, contract management, effective problem solving and focus on total cost of ownership.
Dirk’s experience in the New Zealand market is particularly strong in procurement, contract and supply management, particularly in infrastructure services. He has consulted alongside organisations such as Vector, Powerco, Telecom, Spark, Bluebird Foods and Department of Corrections. Dirk has also worked in the tertiary education sector overseas and with Auckland University, in developing supply chain academic content for their MBA programme.
Dirk’s overseas experience includes senior roles in logistics for Pirelli in both Italy and Germany, for Johnson Controls Automotive Systems Group in Germany, and as an independent supply chain management consultant in the Netherlands. He has lectured in Supply Chain for the Future Leaders Programme at Pirelli Campus.
Dirk has led significant teams in manufacturing, services and procurement and has a track record of success in implementing change and creating and supporting highly motivated teams. He has worked in establishing, changing and closing business operating units and in driving internal efficiency and process improvement.
